The long string of warm summer days has come to a close with this week’s Club Marine Wednesday Twilight entrants embracing the start of a week-long cool southerly change. A 15-20 knot forecast didn’t quite eventuate, with teams starting the race in a light sou ‘easterly breeze with the potential for a shortened course from the beginning.

The Race Committee decided to start with a full course planned but have the option to shorten if required. As the team made their way down Sydney Harbour for their first lap the breeze stayed light and fickle. With dark skies over the city and the chance of a thunderstorm, the Race Committee decided to shorten the course as the yachts passed Point Piper.

Divisional winners included David Pescud’s SWD – Kayle in PHS DivA, Vicki Hartley’s Sea Change in PHS DivB, David Freeman’s Pronto in PHS DivC and John Griffin’s Zara in PHS DivD.
