The world-famous CYCA Breakfast Club is temporarily changing tack (excuse the pun!), heading about 600km north-west to the equally-famous country centre of Tamworth for our Christmas Hamper Appeal.

The purpose of the Breakfast Club’s fundraising is to give help where required to people or organisations in sailing. This year, however, due to the harsh drought conditions faced by much of Australia, we are heading to Tamworth and working with the Country Women’s Association, Salvation Army and the local IGA to distribute Christmas hampers to families in the country who are doing it tough.

Toys, food items and other gifts are included in the hampers, along with a card from CYCA Members wishing the recipient a merry Christmas.

The Breakfast Club has allocated $5,000 for Christmas hampers, with the aim to raise another $4,000 in order to complete the project. If the goal is reached, we will also be able to fund Christmas parties for the 1-or-2-teacher schools further out.

If you can offer a contribution, donation boxes are located at Reception as well as the Sydney Hobart and Coasters’ Retreat Members’ bars. The hampers are worth around $120 each so every donation is warmly appreciated.
