Join us at 1830hrs on Tuesday 5 July for an Information Evening with Captain Luke Nye, a Marine Pilot with the Port Authority of New South Wales.
Sydney Harbour is Australia’s busiest waterway, with recreational, passenger, commercial and working vessels sharing the water.
This presents unique challenges and anyone who sails on the Harbour – either racing or cruising – would benefit from this Information Evening.
Luke will discuss the shipping movements and patterns in Sydney Harbour, including:
- The leads into the Harbour
- The various channels
- The view from the bridge of a ship
- Timings
- Good procedures which help ships and yachts
- How ships move (turning points etc.).
The evening will provide a good understanding of how to safely share the water with other vessels, particularly ships.
