Another wonderful SOLAS Dinner was held at CYCA Friday 27 September where the capacity crowd raised over $37,000 for marine rescue organisations.

Many in attendance were CYCA Members, however strong support from Members of Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron as well as Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club made for a sensational evening.

Past Commodore and current Chair of CYCA’s Safety of Lives at Sea Trusts David Kellett AM sat down with Australian sailing legend, world championship sailor and nine-time Olympic Team Coach Mike Fletcher OAM, who delivered memorable insight into his life and experiences with sailing.

Beautiful food from CYCA’s caterer, and recent Venue Caterer of the Year, Blond Catering and good quality wines supplied by the Oatley Family were enjoyed by all – especially the celebratory bubbles from Accolade Wines!

A raffle for a $2,500 Paspaley Pearl was won by Member Dinah Eagle and, in the silent auction, the day aboard Past Commodore Matt Allen AM’s Palm Beach 65 Moochalong proved so popular a second day was offered, resulting in $10,000 being raised for that item alone.
