AMSA vessel registration review

From the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA)

Do you own an Australian-flagged yacht? Is it listed on the Australian General Shipping Register?

Your vessel’s registration details might be the last thing on your mind as you prepare to set sail on your next adventure, but there’s something important you need to do before you weigh anchor.

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) is reviewing the registration details of all vessels listed on the Australian General Shipping Register.

This is an important process undertaken by AMSA to ensure the register contains current information and continues to serve its purpose.

If your vessel is listed on the register, you will need to confirm that the registration details are correct and if not, advise AMSA as required.

Make sure your vessel’s registration details are up-to-date if you want your vessel to remain on the register. Alternatively, you can request removal of your vessel from the register.

Remember, the Australian General Shipping Register provides legally and internationally recognisable nationality to your vessel.

Registration is equivalent to a passport for your vessel, so it is important that you ensure that all details are up-to-date.

Visit amsa.gov.au/confirming-your-ship-registration-details to confirm the status of your registered vessel.
