Never a Dull Moment, Windhover and First Light scooped the divisional wins in Race 2 of the 2022 CYCA Spring Series.
A fleet of 19 boats took on a chilly 14-20kt breeze (WNW) for the second of four races in the series.
Colin Wilson’s MK49 Never a Dull Moment got the gun and the win on handicap in Division 1, ahead of It Happens (Craig Young and David Chesters) and Race 1 winner Shine On – Team Callendina (Phil Herscovics).
Shine On – Team Callendina and It Happens share the lead in the overall pointscore standings.
Andrew Silk steered his Beneteau First 40.7 Windhover to victory in Division 2, beating Zara (John Griffin) by just 29 seconds on corrected time. Superfine (George Waldthausen) was third.
Windhover leads Superfine by a point in the overall standings.
David Jacobs and Roy Melick’s Dehler 41DS First Light was the winner of a packed Division 3 fleet.
Nine boats were in action, with First Light, Applejack (Derek McDonnell and Rogerio Blanc-Ramos) and Sumatra (Basil and Shane Diethelm) on the podium.
Applejack leads the way on the overall pointscore standings after a strong start to the series. First Light is two points behind, with Emily (Jason and Mary King) also in contention for the series win.
Race 3 will take place this Sunday 21 August, before the series finale on Sunday 28 August.
