2022 International Women’s Day Breakfast

Join us at 0730hrs on Tuesday 8 March 2022 for the CYCA’s annual International Women’s Day Breakfast.

Members and guests are invited to enjoy a delicious hot breakfast in the Freya Room (upstairs in the CYCA Clubhouse) and listen to an inspiring panel of female sailors – Nina Curtis, Felicity Nelson and Rachel Williams.

The breakfast will be hosted by CYCA Director, Jackie Sapir.

Nina Curtis won an Olympic silver medal at London 2012, alongside Olivia Price and Lucinda Whitty in the Women’s Elliott 6m class.

She has twice been named Australian Female Sailor of the Year and won gold at the Women’s Match Racing World Championships in 2009.

In 2017/18, she joined Team Brunel for the Southern Ocean leg of the Volvo Ocean Race.

Nina is currently part of Australia’s SailGP team, which leads the championship standings ahead of the United States Sail Grand Prix in late March.

Felicity Nelson is a veteran of 25 Sydney Hobart Yacht Races, reaching the milestone in the 2021 race on Supernova, the Sydney 36 she co-owns and co-skippers alongside Alex Seja.

Felicity is just the second woman, behind Adrienne Cahalan, to compete in the Great Race 25 times.

She has twice finished third overall in the Sydney Hobart – on Impeccable in 1993 and on Quikpoint Azzurro in 2015.

Rachel Williams started sailing in 2019 with the Wednesday Twilight Series. She has since completed two Cabbage Tree Island Races, two SOLAS Big Boat Challenges and her first Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, aboard LawConnect in the 2021 race.

Rachel is also sailing in the Sydney Harbour Women’s Keelboat Series on the MC38 LawConnect, skippering the boat’s first all-female crew in Race 3.

Tickets are available to book below – $60 for CYCA Members and $66 for non-Members.
