The 2018 CYCA Youth Sailing Academy Development Match Racing (DMR) Squad program represents a more refined and direct pathway for youth sailors to develop their keelboat experience, fleet racing knowledge as well as introduce sailors to the discipline of match racing. The new structure includes a longer segregated program incorporating both fleet and match racing components.

• Develop good boat handling and spinnaker skills
• Gain valuable teamwork experience   
• Develop and fine tune match racing
• Make new friends at the CYCA and at Interclub Regatta's
• Race on Australia's finest keel boats at Australia's most prestigious yacht club

Training Program:
Week 1-4 - Elliott 7 boat handling and fleet racing tuning and tactics

Week 5-9 - Elliott tuning & interclub fleet racing regattas

Week 10-12 - Introduction to match racing and tactics

Eligibility:  
Sailors must be between the ages of 14 and 18 years and have already demonstrated a high level of sailing ability either through their own club and class results or participation in CYCA Youth Sailing Programs. All applications will be assessed on merit for the available positions.
Course is limited to 30 students
 
Cost:  $585.00 This includes all use of the Elliott 7 metre boats, coaching over the period, YSA Presentation dinner, CYCA Membership and entry for selected crews into the interclub regattas.

Responsibility: 
The YSA is partially funded through the generosity of the CYCA members and sponsors. All participants are expected to support the Academy through boat maintenance and with a high code of conduct.
