Twenty four Saturdays of Elliott 7 training and racing, elite coaching and the opportunity for yacht racing.

• Fine tuning the basics of fleet racing
• Develop a sound understanding of Match Racing rules
• Professional fitness and nutrition instructing from Evolution Welbeing
• Using strategies and putting them into practice 
• Develop good boat handling skills
• Gain valuable teamwork experience   
• Develop and fine tune match racing
• Race on Australia's finest keel boats at Australia's most prestigious yacht club
• Represent the CYCA Youth Sailing Academy in local, National and International regattas

Training Dates: 
Saturdays: (0730 - 1600)
Weeks 1-5: (23 Apr, 29 Apr, 6 May, 13 May, 20 May)
Fleet racing & Elliott tuning & crew combinations

Weeks 6-14: (27 May, 3 Jun, 10 Jun, 17 Jun, 1 Jul, 8 Jul, 15 Jul)
Skills development in Match racing with a view to consolidating crews for representation

Weeks 15-22: (29 Jul, 12 Aug, 19 Aug, 26 Aug, 2 Sep, 16 Sep, 23 Sep)
Representative teams selected and fine tuning crew combination for events 

Weeks 1-12: Racing in the CYCA Winter Series (optional)

Presentation Evening: - Friday 18 August

Sailing rules, rope work, sail trim, weather, log books and other lectures as provided.

Other Pathways and Opportunities in 2017:
• National and International Match Racing regattas
• Crewing opportunities in skiff and Olympic classes

• Land Rover Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race

Sailors must be between the ages of 16 and 25 years and have already demonstrated a high level of sailing ability either through their own club and class results or participation in CYCA Youth Sailing Programs. All applications will be assessed on merit for the available positions.
