Clippers return to CYCA in 2017…with Wendy Tuck at the Helm

The Clippers recently confirmed the participation of their 12 boats in the 2017 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, followed by them welcoming back former skipper Wendy ‘Wendo’ Tuck (picture - Sails Magazine) to the Clipper Race family, this time in the role of Chief Instructor and Principal of the Clipper’s Australian base.

Wendy’s sailing prowess is well known to many Club Members and as the first Australian female skipper in the Clipper Race’s history, she has a unique insight into what it takes to be both a skipper and a crew member of one of the world’s toughest endurance challenges. Read more about the announcement here.

We look forward to having the Clippers fleet back at the club from mid-December 2017.

S2H17 CYCA Rendezvous Cruise

Denis Doyle updated us over the weekend on the S2H17 CYCA Rendezvous Cruise to visit the Hobart Wooden Boat Festival with 5 of the 12 departing boats participating in the Festival as well - Anitra V, Smoky Cape, Lyndenne, Flemingo and Kintail.

Both Denis Doyle and John Allan were Members of the 2016 RSHYR Incident Support team based in Eden, but sharing reds, rather than skeds, seems to be higher on the agenda at the moment.
