Will Ryan, Rio Olympic Silver Medallist, YSA Graduate and CYCA Member, sent a special thank you to all CYCA Members for their support.
Congratulations to all the Gold and Silver medal winners from the 2016 Olympic Sailing events, especially our own CYCA Member and YSA graduate Will Ryan and his skipper/partner Mathew Belcher.
The pair finished second to Croatia in the 470 class last Friday morning in Rio, with Will adding this latest silverware to his three 470 World Championships in 2013, 2014 and 2015 achieved post the London 2012 Games with Belcher.
Since graduating from the YSA (2004-2008), Will has also been a strong contributor to our YSA, giving back to the club and youth sailing by assisting with coaching on and off since 2008, as well as helping out with YSA administration work during his time away from the water.
Now 27 years of age, Will has been a club Member since 2004. He is currently studying for a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance). By our calculations his future in sailing will take him to hopefully Gold in Tokyo 2020, with many other successes along the way.
The CYCA is enormously proud of Will and his achievements and delighted to be able to call him one of our own!
